What is SKINVIVE™?
SKINVIVE is a brand-new product in the US to help increase the hydration, radiance, and glow of your skin. You may have seen hyaluronic acid as an ingredient in moisturizing creams or serums. The modified hyaluronic acid (HA) in SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® is designed to be injected under the skin to increase a protein called Aquaporin within our cells. Aquaporin plays a critical role in controlling the water content within the cells. Increased Aquaporin equals increased hydration and results in the overall improvement in glow, radiance, and healthiness of the skin.
What results can I expect from SKINVIVE™?
The modified hyaluronic acid (HA) in SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® improves cheek skin smoothness, and helps skin look hydrated, healthy, and glowing. In clinical studies, patients who were treated with SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® reported high satisfaction with how glowing, hydrated, refreshed, and healthy their skin looked.
What role does hydration play in skin health?
Hyaluronic acid increases your skin’s natural hydrating ability to retain moisture and softness. SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM®, a modified hyaluronic acid gel formula, helps the skin retain its natural moisture and softness leading to an improvement in the skin smoothness of the cheeks.
Hyaluronic acid, a water-attracting molecule found in your skin, naturally decreases with age and sun exposure. SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® microdroplets of hyaluronic acid help address the effects, such as texture changes and dullness.
When do I see results?
SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® boosts your skin’s internal hydration within 1 week of treatment. Peak results are seen at one month and on average lasts for 6 months in the clinical studies. One treatment is 1-2 syringes per cheek, those with more dehydrated skin or have more textual issues may need a repeat treatment at one month.
What is the downtime?
There is no downtime associated with SKINVIVE™. Minor bruising and bleeding are possibilities with the injections but are self-limited. Steps to reduce bruising and bleeding are recommended at your consultation with one of our providers. Expect minor redness post treatment that will fade within a few hours. We ask that you avoid make-up or irritating products for 24 hours post treatment. Minimize strenuous exercise, exposure to extensive sun or heat, and alcoholic beverages within the first 24 hours following treatment, physical sunscreen is encouraged.
Who is a candidate for SKINVIVE™?
Everyone looking for healthier, hydrated and more radiant skin can benefit from SKINVIVE™! Poor candidates are people with a history of severe reactions (anaphylaxis) or history or presence of multiple severe allergies or if you are allergic to lidocaine or the Gram-positive bacterial proteins used in this product, or if you have had previous allergic reactions to hyaluronic acid fillers.
